Vice Provost and Government Professor Sebastián Royo published the articles "La campaña sucia que viene: Clinton-Trump" and "El Fenomeno Trump"in Cinco Días. Writing for a European audience, he notes that this year’s U.S. election presents a “key and transcendental choice; and not only for America but for the rest of the world.”
Royo, a senior researcher at Elcano Royal Institute, Spain's foreign policy think tank, attended the group's annual meeting, which featured a discussion and debate about Brexit and the future of Europe at the Royal Palace of La Granja de San Ildefonso, Segovia. Royo met one-on-one with Spain's King Felipe VI, who presides over the Institute. They talked about life in the United States including when the king lived in Washington, D.C.
Royo also published, "The Spanish financial crisis: Lessons for the European Banking Union" in Informe Elcano 20 and "EEUU: a esperar lo inesperado" ("US: to expect the unexpected") in Elcano Comments.
